Richard E. Dill
1923-2014

Richard E. Dill was born 1923 in Detroit, and served in Patton’s army in southern Germany in the last three months of WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he pursued studies at Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, earning a degree in mechanical engineering in 1949. He continued his studies at Harvard Law School, earning a law degree in 1952. He became a member of the MA, ME, and NH Bars, practicing law in Portsmouth, NH, for many years. Mr. Dill served as Associate Judge for the Municipal Court of Rye, NH, from 1959-1963. Following a short early retirement in the 1980s, Mr. Dill returned to practice in 1989 in Lancaster, NH.

Having become a member of the Vermont Bar in 1998 he opened his office in Island Pond and actively practiced law until his retirement in 2011, when he transferred his practice to his law partner, Dan Keenan. Mr. Dill died in 2014, after a long, useful, and happy life.

Born in Pennsylvania, raised in Wisconsin, Japan and Vermont, Daniel Wiley Keenan received his B.A. from Marlboro College in 1997 and his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 2007. Dan joined the firm in 2007 and became a sole practitioner when Richard Dill retired in 2011.

Dan seeks to provide efficient and effective representation in civil and business matters to his neighbors in the upper kingdom.

Dan enjoys life in the northeast kingdom with his family, playing the bass guitar, and gradually improving his country home in Norton.
