About us

Caitlin completed a program at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA in 1997. There she studied; Acupressure, Tui Na, Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do, Chakra-Balancing, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Pre-Natal Massage. In 1999, she studied Thai Massage at Harbin Hot Springs, Middletown, CA. She worked in Chiropractic Clinics, Spas, Fitness Gyms, and Salons. She also completed a Certified Nutritional Counseling program, out of Aurora, CO in 1998. She studied Western and Chinese Herbs, Five Element Nutrition and Asian Diagnostic Techniques on my own since 1990. She completed a Level 1 Sound Balancing study in October 2011 in Morrisville, VT. Caitlin has focused largely on Pre-Natal Massage, hormone-balancing Issues for women, acute pain relief, chronic pain relief, immune system and digestion challenges, stress-reduction, and deep relaxation.

Cheryl
Cheryl received her Associates Degree in Massage and Bodywork from CCV in 2001. She believes in the body’s innate ability to heal itself and strives to create a sacred space for each individual, allowing their own healing process to emerge. In 2010, she became certified to teach Bikram Yoga, and in 2013 she completed her 200 hour Hatha Yoga teaching certification form Laughing River Yoga. Cheryl believes that it is essential to nourish the body, mind, and the spirit in order to return to ultimate wellness. She is trained in Swedish, hot stone, reflexology, pre-natal, myofascial and trigger point therapy, deep tissue, sports massage, and Reiki. She also believes that nature plays a huge role in our healing process and if not working or teaching you will find her in the mountains or near the water recharging her own vital life force energy.

Holly
Holly began her studies in body-mind healing in the early 90’s with trainings in Polarity Therapy, Brain Gym and Touch for Health. In 2004, after many years working on friends and family, she received her national certification in massage from CCV. Since then she has received training in neuromuscular therapy, myoskeletal therapy and core myofascial release. Holly is especially interested in deep tissue and myofascial approaches, and in the body-mind effect, including meditation. Listening to the needs of clients, and adjusting sessions as we go is especially rewarding.

Irvin
Irvin is a 2007 graduate of the Finger Lakes School of Massage (FLSM) in Ithaca, NY where he received his New York State Massage License. While at FLSM, he enjoyed learning Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Shiatsu. After graduation, Irvin completed a study of Kinesis Myofascial Integration with Thomas Myers and became a Board Certified Structural Integrator in 2011. He also has taken trainings in scar tissue integration and has recently gone back to school to get his Master’s degree in occupational therapy. Irvin specializes in deep tissue massage.

Janah
Janah is a graduate of Green Mountain Massage School. She is trained in Swedish and Deep tissue massage, Hot and Cold stone massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and hydrotherapy modalities. She is also certified in Abhyanga massage, an Ayurvedic oil therapy. Janah is deeply committed to her studies in massage, Ayurveda, herbalism and yoga and has a special interest in women’s health. She incorporates and blends different aspects of her trainings in her massages to create a unique session for each individual client. Janah is passionate about achieving a satisfying and relaxing massage, helping bring the client a deep sense of well-being.

Jenn S
Jenn S is a 2013 graduate of The Pyramid Holistic Massage School in Rutland, Vermont. This holistic program focused on healing the physical body while using intuition to tune into the body’s energetic field. She is trained in several types of massage including relaxing Swedish massage, deep tissue, maternity, sports massage, hot stone, reflexology and reiki. In 2013 Jennifer received her Bachelors of Science degree from Johnson State College with a concentration on science-based Wellness and Alternative Medicine. Her educational background has provided her with experience in herbal healing, the practice of yoga, and stress reduction techniques. Jenn enjoys incorporating deep breathing into her practice when necessary, and believes body work is an essential part in practicing wellness. When she is not practicing massage you can find Jenn coaching others on the slopes and enjoying the mountains.

Jennifer K
Jennifer K began her journey into the world of massage in 2006. Upon completing massage school in Boston, MA she has practiced in a variety of environments, also spending several years instructing and managing a massage school program. Jennifer integrates various techniques into each personalized session such as trigger point therapy, deep tissue, lymphatic facilitation and energy work. An avid hiker, trail runner, snowshoer and skier, Jennifer can be found enjoying the Vermont landscape during all four seasons.

Jessica
Jessica trained over 600 hours at Green Mountain Massage School in Hyde Park, VT, a NCBTMB Certified School, graduating spring of 2015. This school believes a strong knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Ethics, blended with an energetic understanding of the body, creates a solid foundation for skilled massage therapists. Committed to continuing education, Jessica is on her path to a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Wellness & Alternative Medicine at Johnson State College and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience to help you obtain your optimal health. Receiving a massage is an investment in yourself and those you care about, to support your best self to live your authentic truth.

Kate
Kate has been a massage therapist over 30 years. Kate has taught Deep Tissue, Anatomy & Physiology, and Energy Work at several massage schools. In 2000, Kate graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, a 4-yr. international program of healing through the human energy field. Kate has worked in private practice and in chiropractic, osteopathic and physical therapy offices. Trained in both Asian and Western bodywork styles, Kate integrates structural, energetic, and facilitated stretching modalities to bring clients ease, relaxation and expansion. ABMP certified, Kate welcomes clients Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Mary
Mary holds a certificate of Massage Therapy from Green Mountain Massage School. She has been trained in Deep Tissue, Swedish and Therapeutic massage, and Reflexology, Hot/Cold Stone Massage, Aromatherapy, and Hydrotherapy modalities. During her time with GMMS she participated in Johnson State College Wellness Day, introducing chair massage to community members. She volunteered at the 2014 Burlington City Marathon, giving massages to athletes post-race. She looks forward to exploring the many health benefits of massage.

Mary Ellen
Mary Ellen is a nationally board certified therapeutic massage & bodywork practitioner (NCBTMB) and a member of ABMP. Before coming to massage therapy, her educational background was in nuclear medical technology and emergency medicine. Her desire to help people heal and prevent injury is what motivated and inspired her to become a massage therapist. Mary Ellen began her practice in 2009 after studying at the Community College of VT in Morrisville. She has had training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Acupressure, Hot Stone and Thai massage. Mary Ellen believes listening well is an integral factor in her success with her clients.

Melanie
Melanie is a Nationally Board Certified Massage Therapist and is licensed in the state of Oregon. She graduated from Central Oregon Community College in 2009. Her style incorporates an Integrative approach which may include a blend of Swedish detoxifying strokes, energy balancing techniques, slow deep tissue release, rapid cross fiber friction and active and passive stretching. Each session is individually designed to meet the needs and goals of each client. Melanie is currently enrolled in a 500 hour 5 Element Shiatsu program at the Karuna Center for Yoga and Healing Arts in Northampton, MA and is hopeful that more people will be receptive to try Shiatsu and Thai Yoga Bodywork, which are done fully clothed, on a futon style mat on the floor.

Mia
Mia has been the Massage Manager at Stowe Village Massage since March 2012. She graduated from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy, Worcester MA in 1997 and holds a MA State license in Muscular Therapy and is a member of AMTA. Mia has had extensive training in anatomy and physiology as well as pregnancy massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Stone massage and stretching. She has also studied Reiki and Clinical Orthopedic Massage. Mia combines a variety of modalities in order to achieve the client’s needs and goals for their massage.

Sonja
Sonja has been practicing the art of massage therapy for 22 years and Esthetics for 11 years. She is a graduate of Johnson State College with a B.S. in Health Science, a graduate of The Vermont School of Professional Massage and The Vermont School of Cosmetology.
She incorporates a blend of massage modalities she has acquired over the years through study and practice. Each massage is unique to the individual. Modalities used could include: Swedish, Trigger Point, Shiatsu, Compression, Sports, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Stretching, Holding, Rocking and PNF. She also practices energy techniques including: Reiki, Chakra Balancing and North American Indigenous energy healing techniques.
In addition to these modalities she is also well versed in alternative medicine practices: Herbalism, supplements, organic gardening, food combining, cooking, juicing, meditation, crystals and sound therapy/healing.

Susan
Susan graduated from the Virginia School of Massage in Charlottesville, VA in 1995, is a National Board Certified Massage Therapist (NCBTMB) and is licensed in the state of Virginia. She specializes in the treatment of chronic pain and injury through a diverse blend of modalities including Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Swedish and Acupressure. She also has a great affinity for sports massage and working with elderly clients. Susan’s hope is to facilitate greater ease of movement in the body and in life.

Timberly
Timberly has been practicing massage and bodywork for 25 years, having worked at some of the nation’s premiere resort and spas on the both here in Vermont and in Colorado. Timberly is a graduate of the Vermont Institute of Massage Therapy where she received her degree in Swedish massage. She has continued her training over the years and currently holds certification for Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, LaStone Massage, Reflexology and Lomi- Lomi Massage. She studied with Aaron Mattes and is both certified in Sports Massage as well as proficient in Active- Isolated Stretching techniques. Timberly has a keen understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as disease processes as she is also a Registered Nurse in the state of Vermont. She is well trained in a multitude of full body treatments, exfoliations, wraps and ayurvedic treatments. Her work is a blend of several techniques, providing a deep feeling of therapeutic relaxation.

  • Combo Massage

    $65

    Offering a combination of lighter and deeper pressure massage, the Combo Massage is ideal when you are not sure which to pick. Your therapist will work individually with you to determine what is most important to you during your session. How much pressure is right for you? We want to know! We assume the philosophy that massage should never be painful, but still you can expect that some spots will be uncomfortable to have worked. Healthy tissue does not hurt! So if you are experiencing discomfort, it means there is some issue happening in that area that is worthy of discussing with your practitioner. The more you can tell us during your session about how you are experiencing the work, the better we can serve you.

  • Deep Tissue Therapy

    $70

    Deep Tissue Massage is excellent for relieving chronic muscle tightness, helping with injury recovery, releasing knots and loosening connective tissue. Our practitioners employ a variety of techniques in Deep Tissue Therapy dependent upon their background and training—from deep Swedish to structural bodywork to neuromuscular and trigger point therapy, we will work with you and within your comfort zone.

  • Exfoliating Body Scrub

    $150

    A nourishing delight! Exfoliate and renew with a choice of salt or sugar scrub. Aromatherapy is included with your treatment. Unscented scrubs are also available. This exfoliating treatment includes a full body massage that will replenish lost moisture and detoxify your skin. Refrain from shaving legs before this treatment.

  • Hydrating Body Wrap

    $110

    Your journey begins with a full-body massage with our moisture-rich body butter. Available unscented or choose from our signature aromatherapy blends. While you relax in a cocoon of warmth enjoy the ultimate head, neck and foot massage. This treatment will leave you relaxed and with sensational, smooth, hydrated and glowing skin! Not recommended for our clients who are pregnant or overheat easily.

  • Maternity Massage

    $95

    Sweet relaxation for the expectant mother. Prenatal massage is beneficial for relieving lower back pain and neck pain that occur as the center of gravity shifts with the growing baby. Massage can help with relieving fatigue, softening the emotional and hormonal changes pregnancy brings and fluid retention. It will bring a feeling of lightness and mental clarity.

  • Reflexology

    $60

    For thousands of years, foot massage has been used to relax and rejuvenate. Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to specific points or areas of the feet to stimulate and revitalize all the organs and systems of the body.

  • Reiki

    $60

    Reiki is a form of energy therapy that can be hands-on or no-touch with the goal of improving the flow of life energy in a person. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means “universal life energy” in Japanese and Reiki practitioners are trained to detect and alleviate problems of energy flow on the physical, emotional and spiritual level. Reiki is used to relieve stress and pain and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions.

  • Relaxation Massage

    $60

    A lighter pressure massage, the Relaxation Massage is a gentle session that primarily uses Swedish massage strokes—long gliding effleurage, kneading, compression, warming friction, vibration and percussion. The Relaxation Massage is the perfect choice for your first massage, or for those with very painful conditions such as Fibromyalgia or arthritic conditions, or if you simply want to relax and enjoy your massage.

  • Shiatsu

    $100

    The Japanese word shiatsu means “finger pressure”. Shiatsu provides a nurturing and soothing way to release blocked energy and imbalances. The practitioner uses thumbs, palms and elbows to apply­ comfortable and appropriate pressure to specific points along energy channels in the body known as meridians. Shiatsu is exceptional in assisting the relief of stiff or sore muscles, headaches, tension and insomnia.

  • Side-by-Side Massage

    $180

    Available only in our Stowe Village Massage Center, our cozy rooms for two are the perfect respite. Enjoy your massage next to a good friend, family member or loved one.

  • Side-by-Side Stone

    $290

    Deep relaxation awaits you. Smooth heated stones become an extension of your therapist’s hands as your muscles are warmed and lengthened, and the stresses of life melt away. Not recommended for our pregnant clients.

  • Sports Massage

    $85

    Sports massage utilizes facilitated stretching and massage of varying pressures to encourage greater flexibility, balance and coordination, to better align posture and help prevent or recover from injury. This style is a “maintenance” or “rehabilitative” massage to be experienced when the body is in normal resting state. Please allow at least 2 hours in between your work-out and your massage for best results.

  • Stone Massage

    $140

    Using both hot and cool stones, some of which are kept stationary and other stones continually in motion, the stone massage helps to improve circulation, relieve inflammation and calms the nervous system. It provides deep muscle relaxation and enhances the body’s natural healing process. Stone massage is not only good for the body, but for the mind and emotions, too. Stone massage may leave you feeling more focused or “down to earth.” A pleasure to not be missed. Not recommended for our pregnant clients. Those sensitive to heat should make their therapist aware before treatment.

  • SVM Signature Treatment

    $175

    A combination of our exfoliating scrub and hydrating wrap, it is sure to leave your skin soft and smooth and your mind completely relaxed. We begin with your choice of a salt or sugar scrub, combined with one of our signature aromatherapy oil blends to heighten your experience. You are then escorted to a private shower to rinse off. Upon return, you receive a massage with soothing body butter, again combined with the aromatherapy of your choice. You are then wrapped up in a heat-trapping blanket, designed to let the body butter penetrate deep into your skin. While you are cocooned in the warmth, we focus on your head, neck and feet. You will leave feeling pampered, relaxed and ready for your day. Not recommended for our pregnant clients.

  • Thai

    $100

    Thai massage is an ancient form of meditative massage going back more than 2,500 years. It combines techniques of assisted yoga stretching and pressure point manipulation to work along the energy lines of the body. The therapist uses their hands, knees, feet and legs to move the client into a series of postures applying gentle, steady pressure tailored to each guest’s needs. The treatment eases tension, revitalizes energy, improves flexibility and releases toxins. It is a non-oil massage performed on a floor mat – loose clothing is worn throughout. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing such as yoga pants or sweats to your appointment.
